Where to buy tools and products in the UK
My students ask me all the time about stockists for certain products, so here is a list of the ones that I use. Bookmark this page because I will be updating it regularly.

I have this hand held torch. It heats the silver metal clay to firing temperature easily. I fill it with butane gas from a can. Simply turn the red dial to open the valve and press the silver button to ignite the gas. It's that easy!

I love using nail art moulds because the tiny creatures are perfect to add to thin ring bands. There are frogs, turtles and seashells. These are very small moulds and I struggled to get the feet on the frogs - but it didn't matter. They are beautiful, detailed moulds to use with silver metal clay

This basic student kit from Metal Clay is cheap as chips! I would also add a hand held torch, soldering board, can of butane gas and a pack of Art Clay Silver. That's enough to start with!

This is the butane gas that you'll need for the hand held torch. The brand may be Clipper, but it's the same product. Note: you'll need to pay for courier shipping if you order this online.

I struggled with polishing for 3 years until I discovered radial discs. Oh my goodness, they clean and polish my pieces without the need for any other products. I buy 3M here in the UK.

I love this product so much! It's easy to use and the 30g pots last for ever! It's smooth, mixes well, sets in approx 10-15 minutes and I use it to make all my botanical moulds. I can thoroughly recommend it.

These files are small but mighty! I use them for filing away excess clay, and also for filing back any texture or pattern lost on ring joins. They get into tiny areas and as they're small, they fit well in my hand.

This is a great value drill. I've had mine since 2019 and use it all the time with a set of radial discs to polish my silver metal clay jewellery. It runs at different speeds. I wouldn't be without mine!

This set of circle cutters has so many uses. I use them all the time! The tiny ones are great for cutting tiny holes for hanging jump rings. I use the larger cutters to make bezels for rings. This set is such great value.

If you're looking for a well made mould to use with your silver metal clay, this brand will make you very happy. A bit more expensive, they are 100% worth it. This lion and crowns mould is so detailed.

I love including faces in my designs, especially the eyes, and good portrait moulds are hard to find. It's why I love this one so much! The designs are detailed with expression.

If you're fascinated by time and want to use clock faces in your jewellery, this mould is for you. Beautifully detailed with lots of choices of square or circular designs.

This is another beautifully detailed mould with faces. I use it to capture the eyes and make strip rings using just a part of the face. Always use liquid release agent so the clay doesn't stick inside the pattern.

Forget pretty butterflies and get hold of this stunning moths mould. Some are too big for silver metal clay but the smaller designs are worth buying the mould for.

I've made bumble bees, butterflies, crowns and clock faces using this mould. It's an exceptionally detailed mould. The pieces are probably too big for earrings but they make stunning pendants.

The detail on these tiny flower moulds is exquisite. The KEOKER brand is pricey but the attention to detail is worth the money! I use them to make beautiful, stacking, gemstone flower rings.

Syringe metal clay is available in lots of different amounts / with or without tips. It's torch fireable. Attach the tip and squeeze out of the tube. Stand the tip upside down in water to stop the syringe drying out!

There are two essential products you should own if you're making silver metal clay jewellery and CoolSlip release agent is one of them. It's light, so easy to use and available as 120ml or 8ml spray The new 120ml bottle is clear. NOTE: will be back in stock soon at Metal Clay

This is the other essential product that I couldn't live without. CoolTools Slik is the best release agent to stop your clay sticking to tools, your roller or acrylic block. NOTE: Substitute Badger Balm if you can't find this.

You can buy radial discs already mounted onto a mandrel, or buy discs separately and mount them yourself. It's easy and quick to do. I buy UK Cousins own brand 2.35mm shank, 0.5mm screw head, mandrel.

I usually buy branded but these Cousins radial discs are cheaper and just as good! The colours aren't the same and I have to mix a set with 3M and Cousins, but they will do the job of polishing perfectly well.

To be honest, I bought mine from a charity shop, so I've found a similar mug warmer for you. Great for drying pieces in between every process, it dries them quickly so you can move on to the next step.

A set of jeweller's scales isn't essential but I find them really useful. I weigh clay before I put it in a mould and weigh finished pieces. I also weigh chains because it's more cost effective to buy by weight!

NOT AVAILABLE - Once you've bought a set of these tiny pots, you'll find lots of uses for them. I keep moulds and original pieces in them and use them to collect silver metal clay dust from my filings, and metal clay paste.

If you're kiln firing, you'll need a stainless steel firing mesh for STAGE 1. I have a small 100 x 120mm one.

I've used charcoal based, activated carbon for copper and bronze STAGE 2 firings. Check the brand of clay you're using before decided on charcoal or coconut.
